r forecast 天气预报

forecast可当动词与名词，有预测、预报之意，多用在天气与财

经上的预测;

而 predict 也是预测的意思，使用的范围较广，名词为

prediction。其他相似的单字有：预料foresee、预期anticipate、推

测calculate。

例句：

台风警报：issue a typhoon warning

台风眼的英文是eye of the typhoon / storm，也可以说

typhoon eye。

台风眼是环流中气压最低的地方，其形状大多为圆形、椭圆形、

卵形、开口眼和多边形等五种，形状愈完整、愈清晰，代表强度愈强。

台风的位置以台风眼为准，在这个区域里通常无风无雨，但在台风眼

边缘却是风速最强的地方。

n day (off) 台风假

台风来袭时，当风力及雨量达到一定水平，各县市政府就会宣布

放台风假。

在英文中，台风假的说法为typhoon day 或typhoon day-off。

台风来了，要停班停课。“停班停课”的英文有以下5种说法：

1. The government has announced school and office closures

starting at Tuesday.

政府宣布从礼拜二下午四点开始停班停课。

2. The government closed schools and offices today.

政府宣布今天停班停课一天。

3. Because of the typhoon, school and work were suspended.

因为台风的关系，今天停班停课。

4. All flights and trains were cancelled due to the typhoon.

因为台风，所有班机和火车班次都被取消了。

5. School and work were called off due to the typhoon on

Tuesday.

因为台风的缘故，周二停班停课。

台风走了，开始正常上班上课。“正常上班上课”的英文有以下2

种说法：

1. The government has announced school and work continue

as usual.

政府宣布正常上班上课。

2. Schools and offices remain open in Hainan.

海南维持正常上班上课。

5.(nature) disaster 天灾

损害 damage

天灾 (nature) disaster

停电 power outage

停水 water outage

疏散 evacuate

台风来袭很可能造成数百万户家庭停电。

“停电”的英文除了用power outage，也可以用power cut、

power blackout及power failure来表示。

例句：

After the power outage,staff of national grid were trying their

best to restore power.

停电后，国家电网员工尽全力恢复电力正常供应。

ng 积水

“积水”是 flooding，指由于台风、暴雨或其他原因而造成的严

重积水现象。另外，flood 可当名词，表示“洪水”或“水灾”，当动

词则有“淹没”的意思。

例句;

The typhoon caused heavy flooding in rural areas.

台风造成农村地区严重淹水。

flow 泥石流

泥石流为泥土、石头与大量的水混合，受重力作用而沿着斜坡滑

动的现象，英文是debris flow，debris 是“碎片、残骸”的意思，

flow 则是“流动”。在山区或地势险峻的地区，连日暴雨很可能引发

泥石流。

ide 山体滑坡

山体滑坡又称坍方，英文是landslide。岩石或土壤吸收了大量的

雨水，导致内部摩擦力降低，加上重力作用，有倒塌的可能。

例句：

Landslides and bad weather are continuing to hinder the

arrival of relief supplies to the area.

山体滑坡和恶劣天气持续阻止救援物资到达该地。
