中英联合声明签署之后，全国人民代表大会又于1990年4月批准了《中华人民共和国香港特别行政区基本法》。《基本法》对中央和香港特别行政区的关系、香港居民的基本权利和义务、香港的政治体制以及香港的经济、法律制度等都做出了明确规定，充分体现了“一国两制”的原则。《基本法》是保持香港长期繁荣稳定的根本大法。

香港回归六年多来，中央政府全面贯彻“一国两制”、“港人治港”、高度自治的方针，严格按照《基本法》办事，全力支持行政长官董建华先生领导的特区政府依法施政，全力支持和帮助香港特别行政区克服各种风险和困难。

回顾六年多的回归史，香港的经济、社会、法律、文化、教育、宗教制度没有改变；香港同胞发扬爱国爱港的光荣传统，履行了当家作主的神圣权利和职责，在国际上享有的尊严和地位空前提高；香港依然拥有世界营商环境，仍然保持着国际金融、航运、贸易中心的地位。香港回归六年的伟大历史实践，得到了

养老金中英文对照

Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke told Congress Tuesday that the economy should pull out of a recession and start growing again later this year. Still, rising unemployment, sinking home values and cracked nest eggs will still weigh on consumers willingness to spend freely.

美联储主席本•伯南克在本周二告诉美国国会，美国经济将在今年晚些时候走出衰退，重新开始增长。但不断攀升的失业率、房屋贬值以及养老金缩水等因素仍将限制消费者自由消费的意愿。

在上面的报道中，nest egg就是指“养老金”，或是为了某种用途而攒的钱。《牛津英语大词典》将其解释为“放在巢中以引诱鸟继续在某地产蛋的人工蛋或真蛋”，由于是出于某种目的而把蛋存放在巢中，后来西方人就用nest egg喻指“养老金”或者“应变的储蓄金”。例如：Investing small amounts of money is an excellent way of building a nest egg.(小额投资是积累储备金的好方法)。如果是偷偷攒下的nest egg，就是“私房钱”了。

Nest通常都指“巢、窝”等动物的栖身地，不过不同动物的栖身地代表的比喻意义却不尽相同，比如：Jim喜欢的女孩子拒绝了他，He thought the girl would be his wife-to-be, only to find a mare's nest.(他一直以为那个女孩会嫁给他，到头来却是空欢喜一场)，但这件事他可不想声张出去，以免foul his own nest(家丑外扬)，或者put his head into a hornet's nest(招惹是非)。
